A medium sized ..., 06-16-2008

Review:A medium sized church that has big plans. The sanctuary is undergoing a total face lift. The setting lets folks worship around the altar in the round, which I like. The Sunday music is traditional without being stuffy. A great big pipe organ and good choirs at both services help lead the singing. They use a variety of Lutheran worship styles which keeps things interesting. Saturday night service is more relaxed and like the Baptists or Methodists than Lutheran if you like that sort of thing. A piano player sings solos most of the time with a little group of back up singers. The pastor is quite informal and teaches more than preaches. The children's program is goog and simple and basic. Nothing flashy. The youth program is getting a new director and should be getting going again this fall. All in all I like the moderate tone of this congregation, and the involvement in the community through their many mission programs. If you're looking for a large church worship service without being lost in a crowd, this church is for you! You'll find lots of ways to become involved if you want. Definately check them out.
